push your team to the next level
High performance buildings do not happen by accident, or on the back of a single discipline operating in isolation. They are a sum greater than the individual parts, requiring collaboration and shared commitment between many parties.
Proactively leveraging energy simulations throughout the design process informs the integrated "big picture" impact for individual energy saving measures and decisions made at all stages of design. Allow such expertise to inform your judgements and illuminate a path forward to meet or exceed your project's budgetary and energy performance goals.
An effective energy audit service will assess your existing facilities, identify energy cost-saving measures (ECM's), and provide actionable and reasoned advice concerning where your energy-saving dollars are best spent.
Sadly, not all providers of energy audit services put forward the same value or quality of service, and a poorly performed audit can cost a building owner much more than the audit fees! Select an auditor who is vendor neutral, solution neutral (i.e. who won’t be pushing a performance contract or service on you), and has qualifying experience. Be sure to consider their project history, and request references for past projects.
get paid to save money
Liasoning directly with utility companies, I can collaborate with the design team to identify and quantify rebate potential for design work in progress. I have successfully negotiated customized incentives to offset the costs of energy saving measures above and beyond prescriptive requirements, presenting a win-win scenario for utility infrastructure and building owner's budgets.
I am also qualified and experienced with evaluating and properly documenting IRS §179D (EPAct) tax deductions for qualifying energy efficient HVAC, Envelope, and Lighting equipment. These deductions are designed to reward building owners, contractors, and designers for energy efficient design.
put me in your corner
Overly complex job? Tight deadlines? Unfamiliar territory? These are realities of our industry, and sometimes an experienced helping hand is necessary to get the job done right and on schedule.
I am here to help.
Whether you need a turn-key effort or just more bandwidth to boost your team's output, I am eager to help you meet and exceed your team's goals.
flatten your learning curve
What if there were a simulation course tuned to exactly meet YOUR experience, YOUR questions, YOUR schedule, and YOUR projects/problems at-hand? I specialize in developing personalized training curricula for individuals and for small groups.
You will be pushed and motivated to "learn by doing." As class size permits, instruction is paced to accommodate active engagement and participation with live examples and demonstrations.
plaques to be proud of
Turn-key calculations, documentation, design team coordination/guidance, and review response support for energy modeling, daylight simulation, integrated design and associated credits.
My portfolio includes broad experience under various LEED rating versions and systems over the years. I've had the pleasure to recently complete the only LEED-CS project to ever receive EVERY available LEED credit. I am intimately familiar with many unique challenges and systems as pertaining to energy simulation, and can bring that experience to your team to ensure you document and achieve every credit your project deserves.
I am actively engaged with LEED v4 projects, and am offering support for the new Daylight Simulation (ASE and SDA) and Integrated Design Credits, in addition to energy simulation services.
